Virtual Global Event Success — 6th-27th March, 2021

In memory of what would have been Ricky's 51st birthday, The Ricky Casey Trust ran a virtual event to raise money for the charity. Spread throughout most of the month of March, our Global Walk/Run/Ride saw supporters come together to do their bit — demonstrating some amazing feats of physical fitness along the way.

The event started on March 6th — which would have been Ricky's 51st birthday. Everyone started some amazing challenges, from 5.1k to 51 miles, throughout the month to raise awareness for RMC and in memory of Ricky. Everyone was amazing! Thank you!

Our Virtual Run/Walk/Cycle was a huge success. Thanks to the awareness efforts made by everyone, this has resulted in a worldwide Renal Medullary Carcinoma movement. RMC may be rare and deadly at the moment but with awareness, education and research we can make a difference.

We had colleagues of Ricky's involved. Firefighters Rob and Ian who ran 5.1k in full breathing apparatus. Darren and Arron ran 51 miles, while a group from White Watch cycled 51 miles. Andy, Ricky's brother, rowed 51k.

We teamed up with our fellow friends from the Chris “CJ” Johnson Foundation in Sugar Land, Texas, on the 27th of March. They also did a 5k walk or run.

We would also like to say a massive thank you to everyone that fundraised independently.
