Annual ball breaks the £10k barrier

The Ricky Casey Trust put on yet another fabulous fundraising event to commemorate Ricky's birthday, raising a staggering £10,945!
The ball, which sold out in a matter of weeks, was an opportunity to reflect on what the Trust has achieved in the past year, and to celebrate and thank those who have helped to promote and support the charity. This year's theme was a classy black and gold colour scheme.
Taking place at Smokies Park in Oldham, the room was dressed by trustees Grace and Nicola with weeks of preparation required to get everything up to standard — including handmade table decorations and extra touches. It looked amazing. “It's hard work, stressful, but worth it in the end,” said Nicola. “Saving money is the most important thing for the charity.”
For the second year in a row the event was compered by the voice of Old Trafford — Alan Keegan — who really knows how to help with the running of big events like this, working the room and making the auction so much fun.
During the main speeches, the Trust was pleased to introduce a new patron, rugby league legend Jamie Jones-Buchanan. Jamie made a great speech alongside Nicola and her fellow trustee Dr Tom Waddell from Manchester's Christie Hospital.
There were also two very special guys in the room: Leon and David. Both are battling Renal Medullary Carcinoma (RMC) and are currently being supported by the Trust. They were blown away by the love and support in the room.
Entertainment on the evening was provided by AC Magic, who warmed the guests up during the drinks reception, before the one and only Stax of Soul UK took to the stage. They really know how to get the party started and sounded absolutely amazing.
Thanks also to Neil Aylett who worked his magic on light and sound before taking the crowd into the early hours playing some great tunes from behind the decks.
This year's event was sponsored by Taurus Security Group, C&C Healthcare and Beautiful Productions.
We'd also like to give our thanks to all the businesses who donated raffle prizes, and provided printing and balloons — you really helped us to make the night such a roaring success.
We are looking forward to next year's event already. Thank you to everyone who came and helped us in celebrating The Ricky Casey Trust's achievements. If you would be interested in sponsoring the event, or you would like to donate raffle prizes or services, then please get in touch.
